An effective agency relationship is a strategic arm of your ministry. To create, build, and maintain an effective media ministry, you must have a solid fit with your agency.

These questions will help you find that solid fit:

  • Is the agency a media buyer or media seller?
  • Is their approach about finding out what you need or, instead, selling you on their methods?
  • Is flattery a key element of the pitch?
  • Do you get straight answers?
  • What is their reputation with networks, stations, and other clients?
  • Is their approach a good match for you?
  • Do they ever say no to business if it’s not a good fit?
  • Is there a good mix of young, along with experienced, talent?
  • Can they help with all the facets of growing an effective media ministry?
  • Do they have full disclosure of all fees and commission rates on each individual media placement?
  • What is their experience level in your niche of ministry broadcasting?
  • Do they understand the uniqueness of dealing with your church or ministry culture?

It’s important to do your homework. It’s a relatively small industry and your selection of a particular agency will impact your ministry’s reputation in the marketplace.
